Who has to sign my payslip? Do I have to get rosters from the coaches? Where do I send the payslips at the end of the season? See the Payment Grid for help.

ATTENTION REFEREES!Payment for games continues to be a challenge because of the complicated payslip issue (driven by the fact we participate in two leagues). For the spring season, payslips ARE REQUIRED for both BAYS (girls) and MIDDLESEX (boys) league games. They must be mailed to the respective leagues; we do not pay for any spring games as a club except for the second grade Sandlot games. I will send you a mailer with a graph reminding you how to get paid for the games you do. Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you understand how to submit payslips for the games you work. If you have ANY questions please call me. PLEASE keep me informed on email changes. It makes things so much easier to keep you up to date on things if I can email. If you haven't received email from me I probably do not have your correct email address so please send it to me. Finally, if you were newly certified last at McCall last September you must attend a refresher meeting before we will assign you a game this spring. I will schedule two meetings to choose from. Be on the lookout for the date and time in the mail. I'm looking forward to working with you all for another season!

YOU ARE THE REFRed team has a throw-in close to their own goal (in their defensive area). The ball is thrown in, and the red team goalkeeper has to play the ball to prevent it from going into their own net. He manages to kick the ball, but it goes into his own net anyway. Is this a goal? Can you score a goal on a throw in? Answer: As we know from Law 15, "a goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in," no matter whose goal it enters. If the throw-in was made by the red team, and it directly entered either the red or the blue team's goal it would not be a goal. The key word in this law is DIRECTLY. In this case, the goalkeeper (a second player) has touched or made contact with the ball after its release by the thrower and the ball's flight into the goal is no longer direct. Therefore the goal stands. Now, if indeed the ball enters the goal directly from a throw in and a goal is not awarded, how do you restart the game???? Ask your favorite referee the answer. |
